Northway grower Tiernaneil host Stem Farm walk
On the 24th October STEM joined with Northway in hosting a well attended farm walk at the Tiernaneill farm of Kieran Walsh.
At this event Gerard Enright from STEM presented a review of the Northway project, highlighting the main findings from the site audits and identifying key areas to target for the future. Additionally presentations on Renewable energy from Solar and Biomass and new innovations in LED lighting were given by guest speakers
STEM membership also gives the Northway group of growers access to benchmarking and information events with companies outside the Northway group, with information sharing events
The farm walk was well attended with Brendan Burns leading a very informative growing tour with over 50 attendees leading to lots of discussion amongst growers.
